What is Search engine optimization?

         Search engine optimization is process to get ranked in google’s first page for keywords related to your industry. It looks simple for defination but it’s not that easy as explained. There are lot of factors & google algorithms to get into ranked in first page. SEO is long term process. It takes 6-8 months to be get into ranked in first page of google. Following factors have to be considered if you want your website to be in google first page.

Steps to follow to get into ranked:

  1. Keywords:

Find out the keywords related to your website or products which you want to get into ranked. You can find out more related or suggested keywords by using google keyword planner, Competitor Source Code, Soovle, Keyword explorer tool, etc. these are some free tools to find suitable keywords for SEO as well as for PPC.

  1. Title:

Title is one of the important factor to be considered in SEO. You have to be very careful to make title of your website pages. After finding right keywords you have to make sentence of keywords to become title of your page. So it will be more visible to users. For example. If your keywords like sports shoes, best seller of shoes, shoes for sports, sports shoes shops in pune then your title is like Best sport shoes seller shop in pune. So all words in keywords list are included in title.

  1. Meta-Description:

               Meta description is the next step of seo. More deep description of your website or webpages must be added into this description. Just like title you have to added description/features of products so you can attract more traffic to your website. Meta description should be under 160 characters. Included the primary keywords & secondary keywords as well as reason why should people want to visit your website.

  1. Website URL:

Website page url’s should included with primary keywords & separated by hypen (dash) –     follows:

For ex- www.techthinkersite.wordpress.com/search-engine-optimization

  1. Alt Images:

Adding alternative description to images make images well optimized for search engine like google, yahoo, bing. Alt text matches with file name of image. Search engine is not able to read images without alt tag. Change images with primary keywords so search engine can find images easily.

  1. Headings:

Heading tag should mention on web pages. These are first tag which should be present on webpages as people coming to your website. H1 tag should be bolded & included with primary keywords. There are also h2, h3, h4 tag also. But H1 tag must be included on the website homepage.

  1. Content :

All website content should include primary keywords for few times. Try to use it natural don’t just stuffing the keywords. Make use of primary keywords as bolded & underline once in first paragraph. This will add keywords relevance to webpage.

  1. Internal Link:

Website should have internal links so people should visit to another pages of website. Internal linking can be done by using anchor text. Create one or two links to related pages so people will know more about your products or website.

In short if you want to get into rank you should follow these steps repeatedly for each webpages of your website. There is also off-page SEO which you should follow for website to get into ranked.
